THE
MAKING OF “SIES NET TV”
Plato wrote in his Dialogues: “What is there greater than the word which persuades the judges in the courts, or the Senators in the council, or the citizens in the Assembly, or at any other courts, or the Senators in the Council, or the citizens in the assembly, or at any other political meeting? If you have the power of uttering this word, you will have the physician your slave, the trainer your slave and the money maker of whom you talk will be found to gather treasures, not for himself, but for you who are able to speak and to persuade the multitude.”
Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes.– Napoleon Hill

“Sky Talk”, SIES NET TV, is the brainchild of our
honorable Principal Dr. Rita Basu. It was her brilliant idea to capture every
event of college and add it to the college’s archive
The idea did-not limit itself to the boundaries of
college, but aims at exploring beyond it. “Sky Talk” aims at featuring social
issues related to students as well as extending it to the extent of interactive
sessions between various celebrities and the students through Skype from the
field of art, journalism ,film making etc.
Swami Vivekananda once said “Take up one idea. Make
that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, and live on that idea. Let
the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and
just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success that is way great
spiritual giants are produced.”
Public relations should always be evolving,
innovating, and improving to mirror how technology is shifting human behavior.
Ten years ago, the newspaper was a ritual in
people’s daily lives. Today, we prefer to scan headlines on Twitter or see
what’s hot in our Facebook. People now have control over where, when, and how
they consume. While it still takes relationship-building to get into popular
publications, we now have the opportunity to quit playing the waiting game and
generate our own buzz. By turning our PR strategy into an inbound one, we
create opportunities that weren’t there before and carve out a place for our collage
in the modern media landscape.
The launch of the SIES NET TV took place on 18th
September 2014 in the AV Room of SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
The pre-event video was launched on 15th of August. It took its initial step by
making a video on the occasion of Independence Day.
An event like this cannot happen overnight. The
wheels started rolling months ago. A new “media center” - “Sky Talk” team’s
initiative to give shape to the SIES NET TV was launched this week.
It required exhaustive planning and a bird’s eye for
details. We have been fortunate enough to be backed by a team of very motivated
and dedicated students of BMM Department who know their job and are result
oriented.
But the team needs expertise from the field of
Journalism to give them the practical touch of application and the finish to
the final recordings. The young correspondents as well as the editing and the
video-recording team from the student’s fraternity gave their utmost effort in
shaping it and giving it perfection to their levels.
In spite of absence of proper amenities and logistic
support required for news bulletin, they were able to shape up their dream. The
‘Sky Talk’ team is looking ahead for support from the college’s management in
providing the equipment and logistic supports to make it a grand success.
As vibrant as the city is, the SIES College of Arts,
Science and Commerce too is vibrant, where highly energetic students toil to
win appreciation for their talents. College events are the most effective way of
bringing youth under the same platform, enhance social interaction and
facilitate exchange of cultural ideas and thoughts. Although college festivals
are an 'only students' zone, hardworking students from the college, collaborate
with their teachers and faculty members too in their efforts to make their
college events the best in the city. Let's take a look at some of the upcoming
and most popular college festivals organized in Mumbai through SIES NET TV.
